Great American Eclipse

It has been nearly seven months since the Great American Eclipse wowed skywatchers across North America. On August 21, 2017, my wife and I were among a team of 770 photographers stationed along the 2,500 mile long path of totality, to capture the eclipse for a citizen science project sponsored by Google and UC Berkeley.

Witnessing the 2017 Great American Eclipse was perhaps the most awe-inspiring and amazing thing both of us had ever done. There's nothing like watching the sky turn dark in a matter of minutes, and seeing day turn to night in the middle of a bright mid-morning sky. Capturing the photograph above, was a labor of love, and a labor of frustration. It also was by far, the greatest highlight of Loowit Imaging's success in 2017. In the wake of the eclipse, the photograph above became our best seller and became the subject of a book. That book's name - An Eclipse to Remember.
